Great book! - I think this is possibly the best anatomy book I ve seen. It has pictures of real cadavers and bones which is so much more useful than looking at a cartoon drawing where all the arteries are red, veins are blue etc. As a medical student myself, I would recommend this to anyone who s learning anatomy or to anyone fascinated with the human body-an investment for the future indeed!
Human Anatomy - this book has got to be the best book available for the anatomy portion of any medical related degree. every structure is labelled and the photos of the prosections are exactly what you see in the disection room.
Clear and concise textbook - McMinns atlas is exactly what I find I need for this portion of my course - clear concise pictures to complement anatomy sessions. Although not required now I can see that the clinical notes found at the end of each chapter will be useful in the future and annotations throughout make it easier to understand. Personally, I didn t find the bonus CD of 3D rotatable anatomical models that useful, except for the extra tests which are always good. Otherwise, I don t think I can really fault the book. It is simple but detailed enough for my needs and doesn t weigh a ton like some of the others!
Perfect partner to real dissection - This is a great book. It has very detailed PHOTOS of real prosections. This is a fantastic book to have with you in the dissecting room. The labels are numbered so that you can cover up the legend and test yourself - Great for revision.Don t make this the only anatomy text you buy though. The book is not intended to be descriptive but makes up for it in it s brilliant detail. Shame that the section on the brain is quite brief.
Excellent Atlas! - Unlike many it has actual pictures of dissections - when you are looking at the cadaver its never the same trying to find a structure from a diagram / sketch. Nicely presented and organised well into different areas. Great clinical applications as well which a lot of courses nowadays focus on. Dont be put off by the price and buy one ... its an investment - will be useful throughout the clinical course as well.
